Roleplaying & Character Rules
General Rules:
* You may have a total of eight characters, two characters per account, with a total of 4 accounts.
* You may only create another character when you have at least 50 posts.
* You must ensure that you log in to your accounts every day and post in the correct account.
* To keep this board from being overcrowded with girls, for every two female characters, you must make a male character.
* Please do not post in other people's sorting except your own. The only people allow are the Global Moderators and the Administrators.
* Please refrain from sexual content. You can show PDA (Public Displays of Affection) like hugging and holding hands and kissing.
* No net-speak (example: u r da best).
* All inactive character profiles will be moved to a different section after a certain time. Canon characters will be move after a month of inactivity. Original characters will be move after two months of inactivity. Your profile will not be not be deleted. (This rule is not really enforced, as we know everyone has a life outside of merely roleplaying.)
* If you wish for your character to be back, please PM one of the GMod or Admin to move it to the Character Registration. However, you will need the approval of the admin again.
Roleplaying Rules:
* All roleplaying must be done in third person. This means that you will post in past tense and use "his, her, he, she" instead of "I."
* Your posts MUST be more than one line. This just drives me crazy. All posts need to be at least one paragraph of 5 sentences (minimum).
* I know that not all of us speak English; therefore, there may be a few grammar and spelling errors. Please run your post through the Spell Check as well as reading it over again. Accents are an exception (e.g. Fleur Delacoeur [french]: “'arry Potter”, “‘agrid,” etc), unless it’s really obvious you’re just using them to cover up your inability to spell.
* Only topics are to be respected. You wouldn't like it if I posted in your topic when you strictly say “Only for...”
* There will be ABSOLUTELY NO Godmoding or Powerplaying! Godmoding is when your character is so powerful that he/she will not get hurt and can kill anyone. Powerplaying is when you control another person's character or just automatically hit him/her.
* If you do decide to get hit, please take on the correct effect of the spell. If you don't know the effects of the spell, ask your fellow members or look it up at >>>Here<<<.
Application Rules:
* There will not be any Mary-Sues. We mock Mary-Sues. Also, your character cannot be related to any of the Canon characters except under certain circumstances.
* Your character’s “History/Background” section must be a minimum of 5 sentences. - New Rule
* Your character’s “General Personality” section must be a minimum of 5 sentences. - New Rule
* Please check out the Staff/Students Lists before asking what staff positions are available. Then, if you have extra questions, you may ask an admin. - New Rule
* We ask you to please make sure your character's description is logically/physically possible. The last thing we want is yet another "voluptuous" or "curvy" teenager who weighs significantly less than a toothpick. (Being curvy implies you have, y'know, extra weight.) - New Rule
* Same goes with history. It just needs to make sense. - New Rule
* All magical acquired abilities are now given out only to sixth years and above. You may possess only one magical ability at any age; however, you may only use them when you're 15 and above. Even then, you will still have limited control and usage.
* Animagus powers are granted only to those who are sixth year and above. We are not accepting any more wolf Animagi.
* We encourage Hietus members!
* We are now making it mandatory to look up sample applications (which can be found in the “Character Record” board) before you write your own application. That way, you’ll know what we’re looking for. Trust us, we’ll know if you haven’t followed this rule. (Some of the highest-quality applications have been written by RPers Taras Putschist/Irina Zhukov and Aleksei Trevelyan, so we highly recommend you check those out.) - New Rule
* If you do not intend on completing your application, let us know. We don't want you to give up and leave us to sit around and wonder if you'll ever finish the thing or not. - New Rule
