This is the Official Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows discussion thread.
SPOILERS WITHIN. DO NOT WHINE IF YOU GET A PLOT POINT SPOILED BY READING THIS THREAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Also, please give fair warning before a spoiler. Something large, bold, and red ought to do.
LOL SPOILER-TYPE THING BELOW!
That said, I cannot believe she killed off who she did, and I'm not quite sure I like the ending/epilogue, but it was very clever on her part. And, to all you whiners: CANON. x3

did you get halfway though the book and wonder how the hell he was recalling these names like no tomarrow?
SOPILERS:
I felt actuall sorrow when they killed off dobby, even though they were words on a peice of paper.
Decoy potters, nice plan, exept for the fact that I just dont see only one dieing out of that kind of ambush. MAD EYE WHY!!!!!!!!!!!! (yes it ryhmes)
and I was so right about harry being the last horcrux, and he did have to get killed, but no we have to bring him back from the dead so harry potter fan across the world dont comit suicide.

I bet Christopher Paolini's unwritten third book that Dumbledore would make a comeback of some sort in Deathly Hallows. I am very glad I won.
That said, it was an enjoyable enough read, but there were definitely plotholes and some of the explanations were highly unsatisfactory. But I'm a cranky, nitpicky sort, so my opinion is only to be expected. xD

Lily and Severus. That's not actually that surprising. I've read a fanfiction that's sort of similar to the story in the book, about 5 years ago. And I won the theory about the horcuxes against my sister.
I love the ending. So sad Remus die and Dobby too... I was crying while I read the part where Harry was digging Dobby's grave.

SHE KILLED FRED. NOOOO!!! I love Fred! My friend and I have decided that Avada Kedavra is the COMA inducing curse and that you must finish off your victim while they are in a coma. Fred is only in a coma. So's Tonks and Lupin. And Mad-Eye. And Dobby. And George's ear.

the battle of Hogwarts was AWESOME!! I can't wait to see it on film, but they may have a hard time trying to make the movie for this book. It is the best out of the seven books. I hope they don't screw it up.
Dobby is dead for sure *cries* I love Dobby.
Hehehee, the Kreacher hitting Mundungus part was funny! "maybe just one more time". Lol.

Fred's death annoyed me. It was so - for lack of a better description, and because I'm an unabashed Browncoat - leaf-on-the-wind.
Neville, though! Neville was frigging hardcore. I knew there was a reason I liked him.

Neville pulling the sword out of the hat and pwning Nagini was awesome. I always liked Neville, especially after Order of the Phoenix, but Deathly Hallows made him easily one of my favorites now. He was showing off his cuts and bruises and stuff, bragging about his defiance in the face of Death Eaters... it's amazing how much he grew from the timid little boy chasing Trevor around and telling Malfoy that he's 12 of him...
Oh, and hi. I'm new.

I always love a rebel story, like the american revolution. "they raised the tax on tea, REVOLT". but my favorite part was the fact that Neville was about to be killed and went into hideing inside the school and continued his actions. You also gotta love the horde of house elves stabbing people in the foot. I did find the battle between harry and voldemort kind of sparse, more tricks than fighting....

i knew along RAB was sirius's brother, right when i saw it in the 6th book i knew who it was....oh yeah, my brothers said that harry was going to die....(i knew he was a horcrux from the beginning), i kne wharry wasn't going to die, they even said he was going to be resurrected, (canadians gave the answer), but he never died, though everyone who hasn't read the book is saying that he did die....they just won't listen to me....because dumbledore said that harry didn't die.

RAB was a giveaway, I think, for most of us as soon as we read it. I also knew the SLytherin locket had been in the Black house ever since the end of the sixth book. It was just meant to be. And Ron and Hermione took forever, but I'm glad they finally did something in the end... Fred, Remus, and Tonks dying made me really sad ... Kreacher and all the houseelves were epic win....
