Annabelle wandered through the empty the corridors in search of the Common Room. She felt a bit strange about Valcentica having only one common room, considering that fact that Hogwarts had four of them, one for each of the houses. But then again, everything here and her new school seemed strange. She was a lonely transfer student with no one to help her.
What also seemed a bit strange to Miss Annabelle was that she had not met, or even seen for that matter, the Headmaster, or Headmistress. Annabelle did not know anything about the school, or the country of was forced into, and was expected to make tons of friends with the students who most likely had different customs and different beliefs than Annabelle. She sighed softly as she continued to walk on.
She was a bit frustrated with her parents, for making this sudden move out of the country and not telling her why, forcing her leave thirteen years worth of friends, memories, and romances she would not soon forget. It was a little overwhelming also to find out that her mother was pregnant with a little girl. Annabelle had so many things to teach the offspring, and she promised herself she would be ready for it if it ever did come. But, that was in the past and Annabelle was in the present and there was virtually nothing she could do. Annabelle was not ready. Period.
She turned a corner and came to find a couple of groups of friends, huddled together, giggling and talking. Annabelle received some jealous stares in which was used to. Being veela had its rewards, but there was also negative things about it as well, and Annabelle knew these things very well. Annabelle closed her eyes and tried to remember that positive and negative things about being veela was one thing she had to teach her sister. Annabelle opened her eyes and found herself in a silent corridor with tons of pairs of eyes staring jealously at her.
Apparently another thing she had to remember for herself this time was that word travels fast so be careful what you say, or tell someone. Annabelle looked around, returning some of the unwanted stares with a glare sending out the message that Annabelle was not the one to mess with. Obviously the message got through, because a lot of girls turned back to their friends, or walked away.
Annabelle turned one last corner to find she had found the Common Room, supposedly at least. It front of her was a big, solid, oak door. The door had a brass knob, that was equally as shiny as the door should tall. It glittered from top to bottom as Anna took a brisk moment to just stare at it. It was pretty nice looking considering how old it must be. Annabelle looked around and stumbled upon a younger student, most likely eleven years of age. The young boy smiled at her. Annabelle smiled in return and then quietly asked,"I know I must sound stupid for asking, but is this the Common Room?" Annabelle pointed up to the oak door.
The boy just smiled for a moment as though she had not heard what Annabelle had just said. He then looked around and then back at Annabelle and declared,"Yeah thats it. Since I helped you out... can I have something in return?" Annabelle laughed as the boy looked so desperate for her attention. She smiled as she leaned over and pecked the young boy on the cheek. The young boy said," I am Thomas by the way..." as he slowly walked away...bespelled by Annabelle's single kiss. Annabelle giggled softly as she opened the big door that revealed the one and only common room.
She slowly entered the vast room, which was filled with many people from all houses, some Annabelle recognized and some she did not. The young veela slowly entered and heads turned from all directions to where Annabelle was slowly and gracefully walking. She blushed a bit as she got more desperate looks from guys and crucial glares from the girls. Annabelle made her way through the path formed by everyone's parting, and found a chair at the end. She sat down and pulled out a book and slumped down her in chair. Annabelle held the book high and parallel to her face to avoid unwanted looks.
