This is actually a song, but it works as a poem too.
I died So many years ago But you can make it feel Like it isn't so But why you come to be with me I think I finally know You're scared Ashamed of what you feel And you can't tell the ones you love You know they couldn't deal A whisper in a dead man's ear It doesn't make it real
Well that's great But I don't want to play 'Cause being with you touches me More than I can say And since I'm only dead to you I'm saying stay away And let me rest in peace!
Let me rest in peace Let me get some sleep Let me take my heart and bury it In a hole six feet deep I can lay my body down but I can't Find my sweet release So let me rest in peace!
This is one of my favorite songs ever. Bonus nerd points if you can tell me where it comes from!

Karia, I will give you a lifetime's supply of ice cream (or anyone else if they can answer first) if you can tell me what season, the name of the episode, who sings it to whom, where, and why.
Sorry, I'm just so excited to find someone who has seen Buffy at all, let alone that particular episode....

Season 6, episode 7: Once More, With Feeling. Spike sings it to Buffy, mostly in his crypt, but part of it goes out into the graveyard. It's about the tortuous nature of their relationship. All of the singing is caused by a demon know as Sweet, and people start spontaneously combusting with the sudden outburst of pent-up emotion.

*sits and stares in awe* I thought I was the only freak around here who watched it enough to know any of that......
Oh, and I'm afraid the lifetime supply of ice-cream was stolen by my sister who is an insane sweet-aholic, so you'll have to have the consolation prize of knowing that you and I are probably the only ones who have ever heard of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, let alone seen it. *high fives, then hides*

Er, what are you smoking? Everyone knows about Buffy, and if they don't, they are not of this earth.
I've never seen it, but it's one of the shows on my ever-growing List of Stuff to Watch.
