The reason behind the character name

I'm curious as too why everybody chose their particular character name. Like my was made from a Elvish translater that someone gave to me. It was meant to be mystical I guess and I like the sound of it.

hmmm...lemme think...uhhh...well i was thinking of Gone with the Wind or something and liked the name Scarlett, i was gonna ptu Charlotte but decided Scarlett was nicer to use....and er last name, well i had trouble with it, i couldnt think of any good ones so i thought of one of my favorite shows Reba and Melissa Joan Hart and like the sound of the two together so i get Miss Scarlett Hart...hehe lol

mine is from a book that i wrote wich the chareter gensing lazurus whom is esacped from a band of mercanarys joins a geneticly enganeerd soldger blah blah blah but his name means
gensing lazurus- gen-sing means: generation sings
Lazurus means in the code spoken by his band of mercanrys he used to be with: of sadness

so his name literally means: out generation sings of sadness
He was named this at age 14 when he enterd into combat and showed unpreeceed skill in killing so he was the best in his generation. but his last name lazurus was added after he killed his friends to get away from the life he led

oh uhm.....my name derives from my cousins name...its the same name but its spelt totally differently.

Mines kind of simple. Jude is my second name and Montgomery is the first last name that popped into my head. Jude is actually a boy's name though, lol. Now, it's a girls too.

Kitty's the name of a character I've had in my head since roughly about forever. Her original last name was incredibly punny and stupid and I won't sully these boards by posting it. xD I changed it to Callahan, after Nita Callahan, one of the heroines of the Young Wizards series.

My character's name is the first name of the main character from an anime called Serial Experiments Lain. And her last name is from another anime called Magic Knight Rayearth.
